Indonesia is facing yet another climate disaster as massive floods have devastated parts of West Sumatra, leaving at least 67 people dead and 20 still missing. Triggered by relentless heavy rainfall, the floods struck over the weekend, overwhelming riverbanks and sweeping through towns with terrifying speed.
The worst-hit regions—Agam and Tanah Datar regencies—have seen entire communities submerged. Rivers overflowed, sending torrents of water crashing into homes, schools, and farmland. Roads turned into rivers, bridges collapsed, and critical infrastructure was destroyed. Thousands have been displaced, and emergency crews are racing against time to locate the missing and provide aid to survivors.
Agricultural areas have been completely flooded, raising fears of food shortages and long-term economic damage. This video documents the unfolding humanitarian crisis in West Sumatra and the urgent need for support and global attention.
