You've got to feel sorry for the ordinary person in this situation, but unfortunately ,collectively they've allowed all what's happening in China, naturally and man made, to occur by empowering all the people involved with the CCP. By being disenfranchised from any democratic decisions on the direction even in their pocket of China, with all their local knowledge, maybe so much damage would not occur.
