Manila, Philippines is sinking! Flash floods sweep away cars, streets become rivers
Several streets in Metro Manila have been experiencing floods on Saturday evening due to heavy rains, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said. The rains that began around 4:30 p.m. rendered several streets not passable to light vehicles.
Videos taken by netizens showed that Jalan Banawe in Quezon City was submerged in severe flooding, with water levels reaching chest height. In addition, several parts of Sampaloc, Manila experienced deep flooding of gutters and almost knee-deep water due to heavy and continuous rains this afternoon, June 21.

Drainage were clogged?
That’s what happen if the Government Sooo Corrupt💩😡😡😡
true 😢
let's all save the forests to the best we could, stop cutting centuries old trees, save forests from the hands of the oligarchs who continue to destroy our forests for their golf courses and quarries. Floodings happen because we continue to destroy forests. If we will not stop, the last 200 pairs PH. eagles will disappear and go extinct in the next 1oo years, no more spotted deers either….all of the endangered wildlife and trees will be gone…if we want more lands, here few solutions: 1. land reclamation by the sea is the only solutions, we can build cities, high rise buildings earthquake proofs for millions of people who wanted land, but please spare the forests….2. Let's all go vertical as what they do in Singapore and other Asian countries for mass housings, stop building flat housings because it eats too much lands, compared to high rise earthquake proof buildings….3. lastly, to the younger ones, educate your parents and grand parents to stop being a bobotantes, in the next 2028 elections, elect individuals on the merits of their qualifications, not because they are showbiz personalities or a member of political dynastiies, never ever sell your votes ….please learn and grown up, otherwise we will never become the future Singapore like country in Asia
you elected corrupt politician, politician because of popularity, showbiz personalites and being good in dancing and singing… that's what we get, we deserve it…over 100 years, flooding is perinnial problem in the PH. It will never be solved, until we become wise in voting in the next 2028 elections.
Be careful god bless you all

IT'S NORMAL IN MANILA…
The government needs to work together to decrease flood heights downstream by increasing green spaces, transitioning to permeable pavements, and implementing offline flood storage and direct flood water injection… These are very practical and important solutions to mitigate flood damage. Which solution do you think is most feasible for widespread adoption? I have a video analyzing "sponge city" projects and their benefits; it might be useful to you.
