1. The government added the scheduled petrol levy this month Rs 20, that's why the price seemingly did not go down. In reality the government decided to absorb the additional Rs. 6.
2. Dollars are needed for forex and thus import and export. We desperately need it.
3. The real question here was what the government was doing with existing canals. Their irrigation areas have not seen any investment. For example Kacchi canal was supposed to irrigate 755,000 acres, why is it still underdeveloped?
