  1. I have watched and/or listened to this show for…. Fuck, a few years? I was seriously effected by a hurricane that smashed NC. I have never felt a more real or connected moment that when Cody says “I sure do” after the wildfire segment.

We got doubly fucked. Our insurance wouldn’t cover unless homeowners insurance backed up. They spent 3 months and numerous tests to tell us that, whilst we had problems, they were their problems because of this, that, that and this. None of which changed shit, and we are still fucked just out a few thousand. FEMA helped us, u til they wouldn’t. Which was when Trump decided to fuck them too. We, a family of 6, are working on how to get out before RFK finds us

Close. Just two moras total (ya had three, an extra "i" in "shin".) And you're good with the low-to-high inflection, but you drop off at the end instead of keeping it plateaued. Otherwise, nice job!

Also, weird in a way I don't have words for, what you're saying sounds more like "self-confidence" than "earthquake" despite both having virtually identical pronunciations.

  3. A helmet that leaps from your head when it detects danger is perfect. Add on that you were required, by law, to pay for the helmet to be there at all. You know. In case of danger.

  4. Any insurance company that turns a profit should not be allowed to drop any customers.
Any insurance company that drops a customer should have to repay all premiums paid that werent used in a claim by that customer.

  5. Please don’t advertise for 1-800 flowers, they are killing small businesses and their pictures are nothing like what you receive bc of the cut they take from the florist they send the order to. You pay 45 for an arrangement, the picture looks great (it’s all photoshop), 10-15 for delivery, third party takes 15 leaving the florist with less than half of what the customer actually paid for the order. And then they charge the florist fees for the service. Just contact florists directly please! If you need more budget friendly options you can go to local grocery chain flower shops too, many of them are staffed by former shop owners. Also, the photos are so obviously photoshopped, the stems in the vase don’t even match the flowers in the arrangement half the time, or go in the correct directions. They take a photo of the arrangement from above, then cut and paste it to look like just one side of the arrangement. It’s heinously bad and makes people lose trust in the industry.

  6. Things my insurance explicitly does not cover:
    -Fire(wild and electrical)
-Storms(that's water damage and/or wind damage. Yes, all of it.)
    -Earthquakes
-The crack in our foundation, because it's built on a hill
    -Floods
    -Maintenence
    -Theft and/or vandalism

The only thing on that list that hasn't missed my house by less than a mile is earthquakes.

  7. Okay, so as a millennial I knew this was going to be a depressing topic either way on the home ownership front.

You guys should do an episode of the various things we're going to have to plan for outside of insurance, or maintenance. Like being able to afford a structure that can meet code for more aggressive tornado seasons in the midwest? The rapidly drying aquifers in the midwest farm belt is always a wonderful moment to need a Xanax when thinking about it.

  8. If the Democrats were to risk pissing off blackmailers donors, and really push good regulation and social-democracy, and learn to messahe well, it would be in power for a generation.
