11 thoughts on “Americans Are IGNORING The Existential Climate Crisis | Chuck Todd Politics Podcast w/ Jay Inslee

  1. One of the many tragic consequences of 11/5/24 is that America's greatest issue has become DJT, which pushes all other major problems to the back of the line. No one has an easy solution.

  2. Most people don't want to make the real sacrifices needed to reverse climate change. One agonizing example is how often there'll be a story on national news reflecting the climate crisis, a flood, fires, extensive heatwaves, etc. Then, the next story is some inconvenience at an airport interfering with the flow of flights, holding people up. It's exasperating that the dots are not connected.

  3. Chuck- we are in deep deep trouble- climate change is the most important this country and planet will ever see. The 'era' of continuity' is over- we are now in the 'era of discontinuity is now- Americans are totally screwed- and they do not know it! Everything Americans have predicated their lived on- is gone.' C02 on the Keeling Curve passed 430ppm this spring- the highest in 15 million years. It's too late for the cutesy idea's of Jay Inslee-

  4. Psychologically, it is easier NOT to deal with (certain) issues. It's why we have alcohol and drug addicts. Anything to numb the pain. Denial is just another form of addiction/hope for escape

  5. There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis.

Even the biased UN's IPCC AR6 WG1, chapter 12 "Climate Change Information for Regional Impact and for Risk Assessment", page 1856, section 12.5.2, table 12.12 confirms there is a lack of evidence or no signal that the following have changed:

    Air Pollution Weather (temperature inversions),
    Aridity,

    Avalanche (snow),

    Mean precipitation,

    Average Wind Speed,

    Coastal Flood,

    Agricultural drought,

    Hydrological drought,

    Erosion of Coastlines,

    Fire Weather (hot and windy),

Flooding From Heavy Rain (pluvial floods),

    Frost,

    Hail,

    Heavy Rain,

    Heavy Snowfall and Ice Storms,

    Landslides,

    Marine Heatwaves,

    Ocean Acidity,

    Radiation at the Earth’s Surface,

    River/Lake Floods,

    Sand and Dust Storms,

    Sea Level,

    Severe Wind Storms,

    Snow, Glacier, and Ice Sheets,

    Antarctic Sea Ice,

    Tropical Cyclones.
