Most people don't want to make the real sacrifices needed to reverse climate change. One agonizing example is how often there'll be a story on national news reflecting the climate crisis, a flood, fires, extensive heatwaves, etc. Then, the next story is some inconvenience at an airport interfering with the flow of flights, holding people up. It's exasperating that the dots are not connected.
The Trump regime is ignoring climate change by order of the oligarchy who funds them. I believe Americans generally are concerned.

Chuck- we are in deep deep trouble- climate change is the most important this country and planet will ever see. The 'era' of continuity' is over- we are now in the 'era of discontinuity is now- Americans are totally screwed- and they do not know it! Everything Americans have predicated their lived on- is gone.' C02 on the Keeling Curve passed 430ppm this spring- the highest in 15 million years. It's too late for the cutesy idea's of Jay Inslee-
Psychologically, it is easier NOT to deal with (certain) issues. It's why we have alcohol and drug addicts. Anything to numb the pain. Denial is just another form of addiction/hope for escape
